Church members views are sought on the purposes of economics. At the General Assembly in May 2010 it established a Special Commission on the Purposes of Economic Activity. The Commission is representative of the wider community and includes people from the financial services industry, poverty campaigners, academics, theologians and representatives from business and trades union organisations.
Submissions may be made at any time during the life of the Commission (before February 2012, but early submissions, before June 2011, would be especially welcome as this will enable the Commission to take all submissions fully into its thinking and to reflect these in its report.
