Rev Dr Michael Phillippo
Rev Dr Michael Phillippo qualified at Royal Veterinary College London 1963 with BVet Med, MRCVS, having previously achieved an intercalated BSc (Physiology) in 1961.
After studying at the Royal Veterinary College, he came to the Rowett Research Institute Aberdeen in 1967 as a Veterinary Research Officer, where he worked for 29 years before taking early retirement in 1994.
During his career there Dr Phillippo worked on a number of research projects on nutrition, mainly in sheep and cattle. He served on the Chief Scientists UK Group reporting on Copper on ruminant nutrition, and was also secretary and veterinary advisor for the Scottish Diet Report under Prof Philip James.
Following retirement in 1994, Dr Phillippo studied at Aberdeen University to achieve an MTh in 2003, and also ordination to the Auxiliary Ministry in 2002. Since ordination he has served as a locum in three different churches over the past ten years. He remains active in locum ministry in the Aberdeen area.
